The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - James looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jones avoids the head kick by James.
James throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
James shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
James tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Flip Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Archie James.
James shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.

James is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Jones scores with a couple of nice shots.

Jones thows a huge punch but James dodges it nicely.
James keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Jones takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
It looks like Archie James has been cut.
James looks gassed!
Jones landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That has opened up Archie James's cut even more.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Archie James's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
