The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Swavea lands a high kick!
It looks like Brian McDonald has been cut. McDonald looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Swavea fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Nice sprawl there from McDonald as Swavea shoots in. Swavea has managed to clinch.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Swavea looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Swavea persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing. McDonald throws a right and a left that both miss. McDonald has taken the fight to the clinch.
Swavea is pushing McDonald up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. McDonald fails to pull guard.

McDonald looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McDonald throws a sloppy head kick and Swavea counters with a nice body shot. Nice sprawl there from McDonald as Swavea shoots in. Swavea shoots in and bounces McDonald off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swavea trying to control the position from guard on top but McDonald is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McDonald working a defensive guard but Swavea manages to pass into side control anyway.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Swavea goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McDonald has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Swavea but great work by McDonald .
That's one minute gone in the round. Swavea wants to get back to his feet. A control attempt from Swavea but he's now mounted! Swavea tries to reverse the position but McDonald maintains control. Swavea is working hard here to advance position. Swavea is in a horrible position here. McDonald smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McDonald controlling from mount. Swavea tries to buck McDonald off but he can't manage it. McDonald wants to control the pace but Swavea is squirming around nicely. McDonald goes for an armbar but Swavea turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Swavea. McDonald keeping moving, preventing Swavea from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swavea slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. McDonald escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Swavea gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Swavea stands up from McDonald 's guard - Swavea perhaps looking for a knockout. Swavea shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McDonald but McDonald pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McDonald drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Swavea throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
McDonald passes into half guard. McDonald keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Reeco Swavea will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Brian McDonald 's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Swavea misses with a takedown attempt so McDonald counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Swavea keeping moving, preventing McDonald from controlling successfully. McDonald postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Swavea rushes McDonald and presses him up against the cage. Swavea is working for takedown but McDonald is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. McDonald working aggressively here.
McDonald tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Swavea just stands there and leans against the cage. McDonald tries to stall but Swavea uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Swavea is trying to drag McDonald to the mat but McDonald just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Reeco Swavea. That's going to take a lot out of him. McDonald is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Swavea jumps guard and drags McDonald to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Swavea on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Swavea tries to get out of the position. McDonald prevents Swavea from getting back to his feet. Swavea is trying to keep McDonald in close.
McDonald not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Swavea tries for a takedown but McDonald circles away easily and McDonald counters with a nice double leg into side control. Swavea won't be happy with that. You can see the frustration on Swavea's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McDonald trying to control the position but Swavea is working away. Swavea is looking for a sweep. McDonald is looking to take a break and control but Swavea is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brian McDonald has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Reeco Swavea is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Swavea can't do much from the bottom here.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian McDonald comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Swavea has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
