Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eric Strider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Strider's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Neurosonic - Until I die. Jones has chosen ADIDAS as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Strider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Jones! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strider punishes Jones's body with a nice straight punch. Jones cracks Strider with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Eric Strider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Strider. Jones throws a nice looking combination but Strider bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Strider misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Strider moves into the clinch successfully.
Jones scores with a nice hook to the head. Strider using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Strider lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Jones lands with a left to the head. Knees in the clinch landing for Strider.
Strider lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Jones backwards. Strider putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jones in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Strider pulls his leg out and moves away.
A left lands for Jones. Strider lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Strider clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Strider lands an elbow inside. Jones tries to break the clinch but Strider is controlling the position. Strider lands an elbow that stopped Jones in his tracks for a moment. Jones fails to pull the fight into his guard.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Strider just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jones's brow. Jones wants to get back to striking at distance but Strider won't allow it.

Jones on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Jones blocks an uppercut.
Jones can't break the clinch.
Strider tries a knee to the head but Jones blocks it.
Strider is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now. Strider misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jones.

Jones throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Strider blocks it with crossed arms. Jones lands an elbow that stopped Strider in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Eric Strider has been cut. Strider lands an elbow that stopped Jones in his tracks for a moment. Strider unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jones pulls guard effortlessly. Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Strider doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Strider manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Strider stopping the sweep attempt from Jones.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Strider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones looks gassed! Jones has a closed guard, preventing Strider from standing up. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Strider can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Eric Strider has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Jones. Strider keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A nice left hand lands by Jones.

Jones jumps guard and drags Strider to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Jones not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Strider stands and steps away. Jones gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Strider slips a straight right by Jones. Jones lands the left hand. Jones drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jones won't allow Strider to get back to his feet. Jones drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jones jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Strider is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to pass the guard but Strider is keeping the position. Jones stops Strider from standing up. Jones drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Strider manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jones has Strider in his guard. Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Strider is one step ahead there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Strider wants to stand but Jones is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Eric Strider will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Eric Strider's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Strider. Jones feints and as Strider raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Strider is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones won't allow Strider to get back to his feet. Jones sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Strider's guard. Jones is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones works his way into full mount! Jones working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Strider's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Strider is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jones has hold of Strider's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Strider manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Jones lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Strider tries to buck Jones off but he can't manage it. Jones tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Jones is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Strider can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jones is working for a guillotine from mount but Strider frees his head quite easily.

Jones is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Strider has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Strider! Strider wanted to stand there but Jones had control of the position. Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Strider defends well. Jones is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Strider. Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Strider lands a right hook to the body.

Strider is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones closes the distance and clinches up with Strider, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes Strider against the cage but Strider circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Eric Strider's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jones with a couple of short strikes. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Jones working for a submission but Strider is keeping him at bay. Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones goes for an armbar but Strider turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Strider. Jones tries to land a sweep but no joy. Jones scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Strider with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Eric Strider is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Strider ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Strider fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jones checks it well. Eric Strider is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Strider fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it. Jones lands with a nice combination. Strider backs away looking to recover. A low kick from Strider misses and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Strider will be more careful next time no doubt. Jones fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Jones's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jones duly obliges. Jones tries to clinch up but Strider circles away and keeps his distance. Strider misses with a two punch combination.
Jones with a nice cross. Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Strider takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Strider on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Jones is pressing down on Strider's thigh, looking to free his foot. Strider is holding on for now. Alex Jones has got the better of the ground game so far. Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Strider is defending well.
Strider wants to get back to his feet. Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Strider trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Strider has left one of his arms exposed and Jones doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Strider screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
