Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Link Copper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sweeney Todd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Todd has chosen Never Forget, Never Forgive.. as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Link Copper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sweeney Todd!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Copper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Copper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Copper throws a head kick but Todd moves out of range.
Todd swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Copper counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Todd thinking.
Todd digs a good hook to Copper's body.

Copper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Copper showed some decent athleticism there.
Copper wants to stand up but Todd is controlling the position.
Copper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Todd's head.
Copper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Todd keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Todd preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Copper is keen to just control but Todd is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Copper walks into a stiff left hand from Todd.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Copper tries to close the distance and clinch up but Todd swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Copper looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Todd manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Copper manages to get himself to full guard.

Todd drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Todd jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Todd controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Copper wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Copper is trying to keep Todd in close.
Copper is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Todd is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Todd stands and throws Copper's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Todd looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Copper wants to control but Todd postures up.

Copper is trying to improve his position.
Copper is working hard here to advance position.
Todd working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Copper is working to avoid the ground and pound but Todd connects with a decent elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sweeney Todd will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Todd lands with an uppercut that bounces Copper off the cage and back into rage.
Copper misses with a low kick.
Sweeney Todd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Todd throws a combination that misses

and Copper counters with a takedown into side control.
Todd gets back to half guard.
Copper scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Copper missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Copper is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Todd manages to get to full guard.
Todd is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Copper is controlling him.

Copper with a flurry of punches that miss.
Copper wants to pass the guard but Todd is keeping the position.

Todd uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Todd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Copper avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Copper swinging wildly here.
Todd thuds a left hand into Copper's body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Copper doesn't manage to clinch there - Todd circles away.

Copper shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Todd napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Todd tries to bench press Copper off him but Copper keeps the position.
Todd manages to get back to half guard.
Todd keeping control of the position.
Todd pushes Copper off looking to stand but Copper dives back in and keeps control.
Copper is trying to control the action in half guard but Todd is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Copper thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Todd's head.
Copper wants to free his trapped foot but Todd is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Todd gets full guard.
Todd has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Todd lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Copper!
Copper tries to hold on but Todd postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Copper is trying desperately to improve position.
Todd sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Todd raining down shots from the mount!
Copper is trying desperately to improve position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Link Copper will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Copper moves out of range of the body kick from Todd.
Copper keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Todd takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Todd's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Todd duly obliges.
Todd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Copper moves away.

Todd gets caught flat footed, as Copper shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Todd managing to control the position.
Copper stopping the sweep attempt from Todd.
Todd throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy.
Link Copper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Copper is looking to stand up but Todd won't let him.
Copper looking to sit in guard and control but Todd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Todd forces his way into half guard.
Copper wants to improve his position but Todd is controlling well.
Todd is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Copper is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Todd lands a big shot there that rocks Copper but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Copper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Copper tries to get out of the position.

Copper has left one of his arms exposed and Todd doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Copper screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
