Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Giuseppe Broadus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makungu's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Nelly - Heart of a Champion. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Giuseppe Broadus!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Broadus tries to clinch there but Makungu circles away.
Broadus throws a right and a left that both miss.
Broadus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Broadus with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Makungu to score with a decent uppercut.
A jab from Makungu does it's job there.

It looks like Giuseppe Broadus has been cut.

Makungu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Broadus to the mat! Broadus manages to get full guard.

Makungu drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Broadus dives on top into guard.
Broadus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Broadus has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Makungu is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Makungu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Makungu has a closed guard, preventing Broadus from standing up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Broadus slips under a jab from Makungu.
Makungu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Makungu throws a big shot that misses.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Makungu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Broadus.
Mahdi Makungu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Makungu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Broadus moves forwards but Makungu connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Makungu shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Broadus is looking for a sweep. Makungu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Makungu trying to control the action but Broadus is working from the bottom.

Makungu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Broadus defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A combination from Broadus does no damage.

Broadus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Makungu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Broadus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Broadus keeping moving, preventing Makungu from controlling successfully.
Makungu tries to free his leg and advance position but Broadus is retaining full guard.
Makungu wants to control from the top but Broadus keeps moving.
Makungu is really struggling to control Broadus but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Makungu thows a big elbow that misses.

Broadus tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Broadus avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Broadus takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A looping hook to the body misses from Makungu. Broadus does a little dance to reset his feet.
Broadus tries a head kick but it misses.
Makungu pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Makungu lands an overhand right.
Makungu getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Giuseppe Broadus is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Makungu scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Broadus is looking to clinch.
Broadus misses with the combination.
Broadus misses with a double jab.
Makungu swings for the body but Broadus moves out of range.
Makungu misses with a looping right.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Broadus lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Makungu has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Makungu and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Mahdi Makungu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Makungu misses with a series of wild punches.
Makungu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Broadus. That did some damage!
Broadus misses with a double jab.
Makungu doesn't manage to clinch there - Broadus circles away.
Nice defenses there by Makungu.
Broadus fails to land with a series of punches.
Broadus is breathing heavily.
Makungu showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Broadus.
Broadus takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Makungu fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Broadus stuns Makungu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Broadus looks to clinch
and Makungu counters with a stiff right hand.

Makungu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Broadus was covering up waiting for the punch and Makungu finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Makungu passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Makungu has an Americana. Broadus didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Makungu is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Makungu hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
