Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Hayes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thaigo Leites! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hayes scores with a body shot.
Leites shoots in but no luck this time. Leites instigates a clinch. Leites stalling in the clinch but Hayes improves position. Hayes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A frustrated look appears on Hayes's face as he tries to break the clinch. Leites manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Leites trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Leites is looking for a triangle but Hayes pushes his legs off easily.
Leites has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hayes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Leites looking to control.
Hayes content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Leites utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Leites looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Leites looking for a guillotine here but Hayes defends easily.
Leites looks gassed! Leites has momentary wrist control but Hayes slips an elbow through the middle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hayes trying to control the position from guard on top but Leites is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hayes connects with a couple of short punches. Hayes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Leites escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hayes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hayes working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Leites looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hayes is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Leites working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hayes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hayes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hayes has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Leites is proving hard to escape from. Hayes throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hayes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Leites manages to avoid it. Hayes stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hayes wants it to stay on the feet. Leites on the wrong end of a nice jab. Hayes fails to land with a series of punches.

A big right from Hayes misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hayes lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A big left from Hayes misses. Leites shoots in looking for a takedown. Hayes tries to sprawl out of it but Leites keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hayes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Hayes dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A left and a right from Hayes both land. Nice combination. A combination from Hayes does no damage. Hayes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Leites. Nice uppercut there from Hayes. Leites tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hayes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Leites somewhat. Leites fails in his attempt to clinch. Leites shoots in but Hayes avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jacob Hayes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thaigo Leites. Leites is breathing heavily. Hayes scores with the left hand. Leites knows he should have avoided that one.

Leites connects with a single shot there. Leites shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Leites drops an elbow to the side of Hayes's head. Leites thows a huge punch but Hayes dodges it nicely.
Hayes is looking to escape. Leites not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hayes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Leites on the ground. Hayes tries to kick Leites off but Leites keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Leites prevents Hayes from improving his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leites connects with a nice short shot to Hayes's temple. Leites wants to work for an arm triangle but Hayes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Leites seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Leites tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Leites throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hayes's waist but Hayes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Leites off to one side. Hayes misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hayes tries to bum rush Leites with a series of wild strikes but Leites uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Leites will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hayes scores with a one two! Leites had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Hayes connects with a jab. Hayes lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Hayes throws a right hand that Leites ducks under and follows up with a left that Leites also avoids with ease. Hayes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Leites's hands. Leites tries to close the distance and clinch but Hayes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hayes throws a nice looking combination but Leites bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Leites fails with a takedown attempt. Hayes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hayes throws a jab when Leites was well out of range. Hayes tries to bum rush Leites with a series of wild strikes but Leites uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hayes lands with a right hand.

Thaigo Leites has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jacob Hayes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leites moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hayes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Leites shoots for a takedown but Hayes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Jacob Hayes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hayes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hayes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Leites. Jab, jab by Hayes - just one landing. Hayes thows a body shot but no joy. Hayes with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hayes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Leites walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Leites dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Jacob Hayes showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hayes, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
