Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gesias Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Clones!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Dean Styles and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carneiro is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Clones's half guard.
Carneiro is thwarting Clones's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carneiro looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Clones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Carneiro throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Clones tries to roll over but Carneiro keeps him under control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Carneiro counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Carneiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Clones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carneiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Clones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Carneiro is aware though and is defending well.
Carneiro postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carneiro works over Clones with some ground and pound from guard.

Clones is looking for a triangle but Carneiro pushes his legs off easily.

Carneiro uses his free foot to push down on Clones's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Clones.

Carneiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Carneiro has managed to get both his arms back between Clones's legs - danger averted.
