Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Draven McGuinness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Reay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Reay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Draven McGuinness! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Reay! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reay fails to land the takedown. McGuinness lands a head kick!
Reay shoots in for a double leg but McGuinness sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. McGuinness tries to close the distance and clinch up but Reay swats him away and circles back towards the center. Reay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McGuinness tries to avoid it but Reay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGuinness to the ground. McGuinness escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Draven McGuinness has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Reay. Nice takedown defense from Reay. No joy for McGuinness on that attempt. McGuinness is breathing heavily. Nice sprawl there from Reay as McGuinness shoots in. Reay shoots for a double leg takedown but McGuinness sprawls well. He's pushed Reay's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nice takedown defense from Reay. No joy for McGuinness on that attempt. Reay shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McGuinness but McGuinness pushes him off and we're back to square one. McGuinness shoots in looking for a takedown. Reay tries to sprawl out of it but McGuinness keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Reay fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reay misses with a wild body shot. Reay forces McGuinness back against the cage and clinches. McGuinness prevents the takedown attempt.
Reay using the Thai plumb to throw knees but McGuinness has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Reay drives through and clinches with McGuinness against the cage.
McGuinness tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Reay just stands there and leans against the cage. Reay should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. McGuinness throws a knee to the head but misses.
Reay lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Reay controlling the action here. Reay trying to control from half guard but McGuinness is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGuinness tries to get to full guard but Reay has control of the leg. Reay is working for a kimura but McGuinness is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reay throwing shots but McGuinness is blocking nicely. Reay is trying to control the action in half guard but McGuinness is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. McGuinness avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reay slaps away a takedown attempt from McGuinness, before circling back to the center of the mat. Reay darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Reay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGuinness does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGuinness is looking to control Reay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McGuinness avoid being mounted? McGuinness tries to roll over but Reay keeps him under control. McGuinness is working hard here to advance position. Reay uses his free foot to push down on McGuinness's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for McGuinness. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reay trying to control but McGuinness is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Reay dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Reay closes the distance and clinches. McGuinness jumps guard but Reay stands there with McGuinness around his waist. McGuinness gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Reay jumps guard and drags McGuinness to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. McGuinness has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGuinness preventing the sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Reay is trying to keep McGuinness in close.

That's one minute gone in the round. McGuinness looking to pass the guard. McGuinness might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Reay manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGuinness manages to get himself to full guard.
McGuinness is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Reay is aware though and is defending well. Reay stands and steps away. McGuinness gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Reay clinches up with McGuinness and pushes him back against the cage. Reay jumps guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Reay trying to control but McGuinness is working from the bottom. McGuinness seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. McGuinness knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Reay on the ground. Reay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McGuinness keeping moving, preventing Reay from controlling successfully.

McGuinness tries to avoid it but Reay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McGuinness to the ground. McGuinness escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McGuinness dives in and grabs Reay's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reay pushes down on McGuinness's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Draven McGuinness. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGuinness gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Reay to score an easy takedown into full guard. McGuinness seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Reay wants to get up but he can't break McGuinness's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Reay wants to control from the top but McGuinness keeps moving. McGuinness looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Josh Reay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Reay is looking to take a break and control but McGuinness is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reay is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McGuinness has escaped the position, nice work there. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Reay trying to control the position but McGuinness is working away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McGuinness tries to clinch up. Reay keeps McGuinness at a distance using the push kick. McGuinness swinging wildly here.
Reay is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGuinness sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Horrible takedown by McGuinness or perhaps it was just good defense by Reay which made him look bad. Reay tries a head kick but it misses.

McGuinness looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Draven McGuinness has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Josh Reay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
