Chamakh's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Linda Sundblad - To All My Girls. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Heck Tate!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chamakh fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Tate throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tate scores with a push kick.
Tate misses with a two punch combination.

Chamakh shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Tate has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
I would not like to be Tate right now.
Tate trying to get back to his feet but Chamakh is in full control for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Tate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chamakh moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Heck Tate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

It looks like Karim Chamakh has been cut.
Tate fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Chamakh shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chamakh is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Chamakh seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tate for as long as he can get away with.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tate tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Tate throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Chamakh in particular looking to stall.
Tate tries to kick Chamakh off in order to stand up. Chamakh Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Tate is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

You can see the frustration on Tate's face as Chamakh controls the position.
Tate is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Chamakh asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Chamakh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chamakh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chamakh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
