Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matys Loks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matys Loks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thiago Alves! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Loks misses with an uppercut. Alves swats away the attempt to clinch by Loks. Alves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Loks moves into the clinch successfully.
A frustrated look appears on Alves's face as he tries to break the clinch. Loks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alves walks away with a smile on his face. Loks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Alves scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. A solid body kick from Alves. Loks on the wrong end of a nice hook. Alves comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Loks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alves defends it nicely. Alves cracks Loks with a right hand to the side of the head. Alves ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Loks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Alves. Loks is breathing heavily. Alves lands with a straight right. Loks didn't see that one coming. Alves swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Loks. Loks could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Alves pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Alves. Alves decides to take the fight back to the feet. Alves lands a nice hook to Loks's body. Loks takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Alves scores with a nice right hand.
Alves lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Alves lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Alves lands with a nice combination. Loks backs away looking to recover. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alves tests Loks's chin there with a solid looking shot. Nice shot lands for Alves. Alves scores with a nice head shot. Alves scores with a three punch combo!
Nice shot lands for Alves. Alves is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Loks had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Alves with a jab. Alves throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Loks. Alves scores with a sloppy right hand. Loks should have avoided that one.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves digs a good hook to Loks's body.
Loks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Alves. Loks takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Loks takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Alves is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Alves lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Loks backs up against the cage.

Loks is rocked! Alves's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Alves duly obliges. Oh Loks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Left hook, right uppercut from Alves. Loks seems to have got his legs back now. Alves lands with a hook. Loks tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Loks slaps away a takedown attempt from Alves, before circling back to the center of the mat. Alves uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Loks has time to react. Loks tries to move into range but Alves moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Loks walks into a left hand. Alves plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Loks closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Thiago Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Loks staying out of range there. Alves cracks Loks with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Alves might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Loks shoots in and bounces Alves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Alves is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Loks is controlling him. Loks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Alves wriggles free and stands up. Alves connects with a jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Loks looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Loks throws a nice head kick!
Loks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Loks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Loks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Alves is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Alves tries to lock up and control but Loks gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Loks controlling his opponent. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. A nice elbow there by Loks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thiago Alves dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Loks throws a head kick that misses. Loks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Loks is looking to work some ground and pound but Alves has wrist control. Alves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Alves is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Loks is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Loks is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Loks forces his way into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Loks is looking for a kimura but Alves is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Loks to get the leverage.

Alves makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Alves rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Loks moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Thiago Alves seems to be getting the better of the standup. Loks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alves moves away. Loks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Alves wants to get back to his feet but Loks is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alves wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Loks manages to pass to side control. Alves kicks Loks off and gets back to his feet. Loks looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Loks shoots and misses and Alves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Loks gets the takedown into side control. Loks working the head and body with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Loks tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alves is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Loks is controlling him well. Loks landing a few strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alves takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Loks throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loks takes one on the button. Alves throws a series of punches but Loks moves out of range. Loks slips under a jab. Loks misses with a body punch
and Alves counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Loks.
Alves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Loks darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Alves kicks Loks off and gets back to his feet. Alves has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Alves stalks Loks and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Loks's face. Loks staggers backwards, shaken. Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Alves misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Loks throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range. Alves misses with a few strikes there.
Loks moves forwards but Alves connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jab from Alves. Loks has managed to clinch.
Loks jumps guard and drags Alves to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Loks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard. Alves kicks Loks off and gets to his feet. No luck for Loks with that takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matys Loks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alves stuffs the takedown. Alves throws a nice inside leg kick. Loks throws a sloppy head kick and Alves moves out of range easily. A big right from Alves misses. The fighters circle momentarily. Alves darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Alves lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Loks backs up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matys Loks dominated that second round. That's time! Loks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Alves works the jab nicely. Alves has his takedown stuffed and Loks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Loks is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Alves wants to stand up but Loks is controlling him. Loks not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Loks trying to control the position from guard on top but Alves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Loks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Loks stays in close to Alves's body and controls the position. Loks won't allow Alves to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Loks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Alves keeping full guard, as Loks tries to pass. Alves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Jab from Alves. Alves dips to his left and cracks Loks with an uppercut! No luck for Loks with that takedown attempt. Alves thuds a left hand into Loks's body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Loks shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Loks shoots in for a takedown but Alves shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matys Loks. That's going to take a lot out of him. Alves scores with the left hand. Loks knows he should have avoided that one. Loks shoots in for a double leg but Alves sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Alves keeps the fight on the outside. Alves scores with a decent looking hook. Loks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Loks lands a couple of digs. Alves wants to stand up but Loks is controlling him. Alves has his feet on Loks's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Loks throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab. Loks needs to keep his hands up - Alves had a free shot at his head there. Loks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Loks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Alves with a nice cross. Loks takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Loks gets a clinch. Come on Loks - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
A frustrated look appears on Alves's face as he tries to break the clinch. Alves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Loks fails to pull the fight into his guard.

He used the cage to his advantage there. Alves lands a left hand that snaps the head of Loks backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. A right handed body shot lands from Loks.
Loks pushes Alves back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Alves wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Alves tries to circle away but Loks has him pinned against the cage. Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Matys Loks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Loks shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Loks was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Loks controlling from the full mount. BOOM! Loks connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Alves really wants to buck Loks off and get back to his feet. Loks content just to control the position here.
And that's the end of the fight! Matys Loks showed his dominance in that final round. I think Loks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
