Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Punahilkka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Hardy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Punahilkka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Mäihä Show feat. Punahilkka. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 2, fighting out of London, Pekka Punahilkka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Hardy!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Punahilkka slips a jab from Hardy.
Punahilkka throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hardy on the side of the head.
Punahilkka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Punahilkka swats away the attempt to clinch by Hardy.
No luck for Hardy with that takedown attempt.
Punahilkka looks to score with a jab to the body but Hardy is just out of range.
A combination from Hardy does no damage.
Punahilkka throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hardy fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Punahilkka ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Punahilkka misses the shot to the body.
Punahilkka uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hardy has time to react.
Punahilkka stuffs the takedown.
Pekka Punahilkka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Hardy.
Punahilkka connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Punahilkka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hardy.
Hardy shoots in but no luck this time.
Dan Hardy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Hardy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Punahilkka.
Hardy closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Punahilkka tests Hardy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Hardy moves in looking to clinch but Punahilkka pushes him off.
Punahilkka fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Punahilkka does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Hardy closes the distance and clinches up with Punahilkka, looking for a takedown. Hardy pushes Punahilkka against the cage but Punahilkka circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Punahilkka swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

so Hardy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hardy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Punahilkka is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Punahilkka has escaped and now he's on top!
Hardy looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Punahilkka looking to pass the guard.

Hardy looking for a guillotine here but Punahilkka defends easily.
Punahilkka postures up in Hardy's guard and throws a big left but Hardy blocks it.

Hardy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Punahilkka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Punahilkka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Punahilkka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Punahilkka landing with the ground and pound.
Punahilkka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Punahilkka scoring with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hardy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Punahilkka defends it easily.
Punahilkka wants to control from the top but Hardy keeps moving.
Punahilkka is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Punahilkka works over Hardy with some ground and pound from guard.
Punahilkka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hardy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Punahilkka trying to control but Hardy is working from the bottom.
Punahilkka has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Punahilkka drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Punahilkka as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Hardy screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Punahilkka! Nice submission victory there!
