Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shim Sham! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pate Perhana! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perhana steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sham. Perhana slips a jab from Sham. Sham tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Perhana was well out of range. Poor timing from Sham. Perhana shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Perhana was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Perhana connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Perhana controlling the position easily from mount. Sham is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Perhana lands a heavy elbow. Perhana controlling his opponent. Perhana fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Perhana looking for a guillotine from mount but Sham is having none of it. Perhana controlling his opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perhana wants to control the pace but Sham is squirming around nicely. Perhana with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Sham takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Perhana controlling from mount. Sham is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Perhana connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Perhana lands with some strikes. Perhana content just to control the position here. Sham knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perhana on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perhana with shots to the head and body - Sham looks very uncomfortable down there. Sham on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sham tries to get out of the position. Sham is trying to stand up. Perhana connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Perhana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Perhana is in the full mount, landing strikes. Perhana cracks Sham with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Sham is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Perhana wants to control the pace but Sham is squirming around nicely. A nice elbow there by Perhana. Perhana working the ground and pound effectively.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Perhana working away from the top, dropping strikes. Sham is in a horrible position here. Perhana smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Perhana is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Sham is surviving well by controlling Perhana's body position as best he can. Perhana working away from the top, dropping strikes. Perhana looking to isolate an arm here. Sham doesn't see it coming and as Perhana extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Perhana!
