PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Tatov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hammera Head (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatov comes to the cage accompanied by Superunknown. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Igor Tatov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Hammera Head!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Head cracks a nice hook into Tatov's ribs.
Head showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Tatov.
Tatov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Head avoids it really well and circles away.
A telegraphed right hand from Tatov misses the target.
Head tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Head throws a sloppy head kick and Tatov moves out of range easily.
Head swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tatov throws a low kick, looking for Head's leg but Head calmly moves out of range.
Tatov ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tatov tried to score with a low kick but Head checks it.
Head moves out of range as Tatov throws a body kick.
Tatov walks into a left hand.
A low kick from Head is predictable there

and Tatov counters with a takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tatov misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tatov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Tatov trying to control the position but Head is working away.
Tatov throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Head is letting Tatov control him for a moment.
Head is not content to let Tatov control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Head struggling a bit here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Head throws a lazy head kick

so Tatov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Tatov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Head looking for a sweep. Not yet Head, not yet.
Head looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tatov pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Head is keeping the position for now.
Tatov wants to control from the top but Head keeps moving.
Head wants to improve his position but instead Tatov has moved into half guard.
Tatov wants to free his trapped foot but Head is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tatov wants to control but Head is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tatov avoids the head kick by Head.
Head tries a head kick but it misses.
Head is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Head tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Head tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Head throws a sloppy body shot
and Tatov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Hammera Head has been cut.
Head throws a leg kick

and Tatov counters with a nice double leg into side control. Head won't be happy with that.
Head looks gassed!

Tatov is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Head knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Tatov is trying to get an arm triangle but Head is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Head can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Igor Tatov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hammera Head's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Head misses with a straight left.
Head lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Tatov crumples to the floor! Head milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Hammera Head!
