Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauricio Shogun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Humberto Giant!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Giant lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Giant jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Shogun throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Giant's head.
Giant throws a hook to the side of Shogun's head but Shogun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Giant throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Shogun tumbling to the canvas!


Shogun is rocked!


It looks like Mauricio Shogun has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Giant wanted to stand there but Shogun had control of the position.
Giant looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Giant stands up and waves to Shogun to follow him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Giant lands an overhand right.
Giant lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Shogun closes this distance looking for a takedown but Giant circles away.
Shogun moves away from the strike by Giant.
Shogun shoots in looking for a takedown. Giant tries to sprawl out of it but Shogun keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Giant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Giant misses with a hook.
Giant lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Shogun pivots, looking for a leg kick but Giant is out of range and Shogun settles back down.
Giant throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Shogun slips a straight right by Giant.

Giant bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Shogun! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Oh Shogun is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Giant gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Humberto Giant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shogun tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shogun seems to have got his legs back now.
A telegraphed right hand from Giant misses the target.
Giant throws a monster overhand right that drops Shogun! Giant follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Humberto Giant!
