Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sokku Namazu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and carter thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
thompson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Namazu.
Namazu moves in looking to clinch but thompson pushes him off.
Namazu slaps away a takedown attempt from thompson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
thompson rushes Namazu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
thompson manages to break the clinch.
Namazu shoots for a double leg takedown but thompson sprawls well. He's pushed Namazu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Namazu misses with a head kick.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sokku Namazu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of carter thompson.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Namazu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. thompson was covering up waiting for the punch and Namazu finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Namazu is fighting to break thompson's control of his arms but thompson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if thompson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Namazu drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Namazu jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
thompson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Namazu defends it easily.
thompson wants to sweep here but Namazu controlling him for the moment.
Namazu wants to control from the top but thompson keeps moving.
thompson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Namazu is controlling him.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Horrible takedown by Namazu or perhaps it was just good defense by thompson which made him look bad.
thompson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Namazu's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
thompson is not content to let Namazu control the position.
thompson is trying to control Namazu's posture but Namazu avoids it.

Namazu is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Namazu seems to be looking for submissions.
Namazu tries to stand but his hand is stuck under thompson.

A close second round but carter thompson will probably get the nod - 10:9.
