The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Fedor Mirinova and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Rodosskiy or perhaps it was just good defense by fLip which made him look bad.
Rodosskiy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
fLip working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rodosskiy.
Rodosskiy drops back, looking for a kneebar! fLip looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. fLip looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from fLip!
Rodosskiy gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
fLip tries to pass to full mount but Rodosskiy defends it.
Rodosskiy is looking to improve his position.
fLip throws a strike but Rodosskiy avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

fLip wants to control from the top but Rodosskiy keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

fLip works to advance to full mount. Rodosskiy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodosskiy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
fLip unloads with some shots from mount but Rodosskiy bucks and avoids them well.

fLip lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Rodosskiy is desperately trying to improve his position but fLip has a good base and remains in mount.
fLip really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodosskiy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rodosskiy is squirming around, avoiding fLip's attempts to control the action.
fLip is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rodosskiy is trying to reverse the position but instead fLip has taken his back - oops!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Can Rodosskiy hold on?! fLip is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
Will fLip go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Rodosskiy defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Rodosskiy is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if fLip gets his way!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
fLip tries to keep control of the position but Rodosskiy is staying busy.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
fLip looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rodosskiy tries to get to full guard but fLip has control of the leg.
Rodosskiy has hold of fLip's hands but fLip slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Rodosskiy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodosskiy.

fLip not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Rodosskiy can't keep his opponent in guard - fLip advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
fLip trying to mount his opponent but Rodosskiy defends it.
Rodosskiy is trying to control but can't.
fLip is looking to take a break and control but Rodosskiy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
fLip tries to pass to full mount but Rodosskiy defends it.
fLip thows a huge punch but Rodosskiy dodges it nicely.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A right-left combo lands from fLip.
Rodosskiy gets cracked with a nice right hand there by fLip.
Rodosskiy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rodosskiy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by fLip, who protects the arm well.
Rodosskiy is working fLip over with some ground and pound from side control.

You can see the frustration on fLip's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Rodosskiy is working to tighten is grip on fLip's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. fLip has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rodosskiy is really squeezing tight and eventually fLip passes out! Rodosskiy breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
