Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Madukes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jacob Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryder drives through with a takedown into guard.
Madukes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ryder is one step ahead there.
Madukes is working hard here to advance position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ryder accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Madukes wants to get back to his feet but Ryder is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Ryder wants to control from the top but Madukes keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madukes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ryder not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Madukes uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Madukes shoots and misses

and Ryder counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ryder with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Ryder wants to control from the top but Madukes keeps moving.
Madukes wants to stand but Ryder is controlling the position.
Ryder postures up in Madukes's guard and throws a big left but Madukes blocks it.
Madukes trying to keep a closed guard but Ryder is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Madukes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ryder circles away quickly and effectively.
Madukes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Madukes tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Ryder counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Madukes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ryder throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Madukes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ryder is in close to Madukes's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Ryder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ryder cracks Madukes with a solid left hand.
Madukes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ryder is controlling him.
Madukes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Madukes tries to get out of the position.
Ryder trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Madukes keeping moving, preventing Ryder from controlling successfully.
Ryder throws a big right hand that misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Ryder shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryder shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ryder was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Madukes wants to control but Ryder is having none of it.

Poor strikes thrown by Ryder there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Madukes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Ryder lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Madukes hang on?
Ryder looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ryder lands a big shot there that rocks Madukes but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Madukes tries to reverse the position but Ryder maintains control.
Madukes wants to hold on but Ryder pushes him away.
Ryder punching from mount but Madukes doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Madukes is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ryder is landing with some decent strikes but Madukes is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Madukes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jacob Ryder has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ryder sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Ryder tries to control but Madukes wriggling away.
Ryder has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Madukes's face.
Madukes is squirming around, avoiding Ryder's attempts to control the action.

Ryder prevents Madukes from getting the reversal.
Madukes wants to get back to his feet.
Ryder sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Ryder scoring with strikes but Madukes is staying in there.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Madukes tries to reverse the position but Ryder maintains control.
Ryder lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Madukes is bucking up trying to escape but Ryder cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Madukes is rocked!
Ryder cracks Madukes with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jacob Ryder!
