Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Woodhall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of London, Johnny Eller! The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Woodhall works over Eller's head and body with a nice combination.
Eller is rocked! Woodhall has a takedown stuffed. Eller is still on wobbly legs! Can Woodhall finish him? A combination from Woodhall does no damage. Woodhall shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Eller but Eller pushes him off and we're back to square one. Eller drives through and clinches with Woodhall against the cage.
Woodhall works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Eller seems to have recovered his senses. Eller controlling the position. Eller is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Woodhall wants to control from the top but Eller keeps moving. Woodhall looking to pass the guard. That's one minute gone in the round. Eller is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Woodhall tries to bum rush Eller with a series of wild strikes but Eller uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Eller wants to clinch. Woodhall looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Woodhall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Eller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Woodhall sprawls well initially but Eller persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Woodhall is breathing heavily. Eller winds up and cracks Woodhall with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Eller looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Woodhall is not content to let Eller control the position. Eller really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Woodhall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Woodhall is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Woodhall slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Eller seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Woodhall is trying to control the position but Eller postures up. Eller wants to control from the top but Woodhall keeps moving. Woodhall looking for a sweep. Not yet Woodhall, not yet. Woodhall is working hard here to advance position. Woodhall working a defensive guard here.
Woodhall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Eller's guard. Eller looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Eller controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Woodhall controlling from the top position. Woodhall trying to control the position from guard on top but Eller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Eller working for a triangle but Woodhall defends it easily.
Woodhall pushing down on Eller's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Eller tries to roll over but Woodhall keeps him under control. Eller tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Woodhall blocks the strikes from Eller.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Woodhall working over Eller with some ground and pound. Eller looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Woodhall is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Eller doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Woodhall. Eller wants to get back to his feet. Woodhall decides to stand and escape the position. Woodhall misses with a wild combination.
Woodhall with a lazy takedown attempt and Eller counters by moving into the clinch. Eller misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Woodhall.
Eller lands a right hand that snaps the head of Woodhall backwards. Stalling in the clinch from Eller.
Woodhall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Eller pulls his leg out and moves away.
Eller fails miserably with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Woodhall dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Woodhall shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Eller counters by clinching up. Eller jumps guard.
Woodhall has gone for a leg lock! Eller slips out almost immediately though and dives into Woodhall's guard. Woodhall has his foot on Eller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Eller works his way back into a safe position though. Eller looking to pass the guard. Woodhall keeping moving, preventing Eller from controlling successfully. Woodhall wants to sweep here but Eller controlling him for the moment. Eller trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Woodhall looking to control.
Woodhall avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Woodhall jumps guard but Eller stands there with Woodhall around his waist. Woodhall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Woodhall is fighting off a takedown attempt but Eller is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Woodhall to the mat. Woodhall regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Woodhall trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Woodhall manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Woodhall is standing up, even though he is in mount. Woodhall misses with a kick to the body and Eller counters by moving into the clinch. Woodhall jumps guard but Eller stands there with Woodhall around his waist. Woodhall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Woodhall wants a takedown.
Woodhall breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Woodhall swings away with a body shot that misses
and Eller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Woodhall's guard now. This has been an exciting period of action! Woodhall is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Eller has his hands clasped together but Woodhall extends an breaks Eller's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Woodhall.
