The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Genesse slaps away a takedown attempt from Koloff, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A slow jab from Genesse misses its intended target.

Genesse drags the fight down to the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Genesse has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Koloff is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Genesse defends well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Genesse rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koloff moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Genesse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Koloff decides to stand up, so the ref orders Genesse to his feet.

Koloff is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Genesse gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bryan Genesse has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Koloff.

Koloff is trying to maintain a safe position but Genesse gets an underhook and turns Koloff into the cage.

Genesse jumps into guard, dragging Koloff to the mat.
Genesse is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Genesse tries to pass the half guard into mount. Koloff knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Koloff wants to control but Genesse is keeping busy.
Genesse perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Koloff is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Genesse is staying active.
Well, if Genesse is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
