Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Don Dada! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, BJ Penn! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dada shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dada showed some decent athleticism there. Dada wants to control but Penn is keeping him busy. Dada is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Penn is just riding it out for now. Dada eventually gives up the hold. Ground and pound from Dada. Penn blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dada. Dada throwing shots but Penn is blocking nicely. Dada wants to work for an arm triangle but Penn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dada not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dada trying to pass the guard but Penn defending well. Dada trying to control from half guard but Penn is working away. Dada really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dada missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Dada decides to stand up. Penn looks gassed! Penn scores a takedown into full mount! Dada wants to hold on but Penn pushes him away. Dada is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dada throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dada tries to hold on but Penn pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dada really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Dada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Dada manages to regain half guard. Good work. Dada tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Dada looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dada is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penn pulls his head out easily. Penn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dada has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Penn. Oh but Dada has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Penn goes limp - he's gone! Dada jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Don Dada! Don Dada retains his welterweight title!
