Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rich Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronilo Montilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rich Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ronilo Montilla!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gold closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Montilla keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Montilla tries to kick Gold off but Gold keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gold really is a fat lump.
Montilla slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gold has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Montilla is looking to stand up but Gold isn't so interested in that idea.
Gold might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Montilla has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gold off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Montilla sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Montilla is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gold scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gold winds up and cracks Montilla with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gold looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Montilla with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Montilla is controlling Gold's trapped leg to prevent Gold from advancing to side control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Montilla manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gold won't allow Montilla to get back to his feet.
Gold postures up in Montilla's guard and throws a big left but Montilla blocks it.
Gold wants to control from the top but Montilla keeps moving.
Montilla has control of Gold's left arm, preventing Gold from doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gold shoots in and bounces Montilla off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Montilla tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Montilla is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Montilla has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Gold won't allow Montilla to sweep him here.
Gold slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Montilla wants to stand and escape but Gold is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Montilla can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gold controls the pace.

Gold shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Montilla manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Montilla manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gold manages to get himself to full guard.

Gold changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Montilla looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rich Gold overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Montilla is not content to let Gold control the position.
Gold misses with a head shot. Montilla uses the momentum to regain guard.
Gold makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Montilla doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Gold counters with a nice double leg into side control. Montilla won't be happy with that.
Gold wants to lay and pray for a moment but Montilla keeps working.

Montilla makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Montilla.
Gold lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gold stands up over Montilla, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Montilla wriggles free and stands up.
Montilla tries to close the distance and clinch but Gold swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Gold drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gold connects with a couple of short punches.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Montilla is on top in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rich Gold showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gold, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
