Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Benedetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benedetti comes to the cage accompanied by A Voice in the Dark (Blind Guardian). Hughes has chosen Extreme Fight Music as his entrance music. Eddie Hughes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benedetti avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hughes drives through and clinches with Benedetti against the cage.
Hughes tries to land knees in the clinch but Benedetti avoids the damage to the body.
Hughes changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Benedetti fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Benedetti avoids the head kick by Hughes.
Hughes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Benedetti scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Benedetti tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Benedetti has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benedetti moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Hughes is trying to get back to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hughes on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
You can see the frustration on Hughes's face as Benedetti controls the position.

Benedetti is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hughes looks calm but he's in trouble here. Benedetti gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hughes is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Benedetti lets go of the hold and Hughes can pop his arm back in it's socket.
