Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luke Danes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcelio Garcia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luke Danes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcelio Garcia! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Danes sprawls well. Danes wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet. Garcia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Danes's guard. Garcia preventing the sweep. Danes has his hands on Garcia's head, controlling the position. Garcia trying to control but Danes is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Danes wants to stand up but Garcia is controlling him. Garcia has gone for a leg lock! Danes slips out almost immediately though and dives into Garcia's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia looking to control.
Danes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Danes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Danes looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Danes trying to control but Garcia is working from the bottom. Danes looking to pass the guard. Garcia is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Danes is looking to stand up but Garcia won't let him.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Garcia looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Garcia trying to control the position from guard on top but Danes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Garcia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Garcia trying to control but Danes is working from the bottom. Danes keeping full guard, as Garcia tries to pass. Danes managing to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danes trying to control the position.
Garcia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Danes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Danes has escaped and now he's on top! Danes decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Garcia, up you get! Danes wants to clinch. Garcia gets a takedown into half guard. Garcia is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Danes has managed to free his arm - good work. Garcia looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Danes is trying to stand.
Garcia wants to work for an arm triangle but Danes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Garcia trying to mount his opponent but Danes defends it. Garcia is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Danes trying to hold on to Garcia's head to control him but Garcia postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcelio Garcia dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
No luck for Garcia with that takedown attempt. Garcia keeps the fight on the outside. Danes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Marcelio Garcia is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Danes tries to clinch but Garcia is having none of it. Garcia shoots for a takedown but Danes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Danes tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Danes to the ground. Danes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Luke Danes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcelio Garcia. Garcia drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Garcia wants to control but Danes is keeping him busy. Danes tries to bench press Garcia off him but Garcia keeps the position. Danes isn't going anywhere. Garcia is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danes is trying to control Garcia's posture but Garcia avoids it. Garcia throwing shots but missing, from side control. Garcia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Danes wants to clinch. Garcia has a takedown stuffed. Garcia stuffs the takedown attempt from Danes. Danes gets slowly back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Danes tries to clinch up. The fight stays on the outside here - Danes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice sprawl there from Danes as Garcia shoots in. Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown and Danes counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Danes lands a good knee to the midsection. Garcia won't want to take too many of those. Garcia takes an elbow to the forehead. Danes creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Garcia's defenses. Danes lands an elbow that stopped Garcia in his tracks for a moment. Danes lands an elbow just above Garcia 's eye. Danes misses with an elbow over the top. Danes lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Danes scores with a knee to the head.
Danes successfully pulls guard.
Danes has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Danes is looking to stand up but Garcia isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Danes trying to keep a closed guard but Garcia is proving a slippery customer.
Danes wants to stand and escape but Garcia is having none of it. Danes keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully. Danes looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Garcia postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Garcia throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Danes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Garcia paws at him with a jab and circles away. Danes tries to clinch but Garcia is having none of it. Garcia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Danes was covering up waiting for the punch and Garcia finishes the takedown easily into guard. Danes is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Danes is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Garcia is defending well for now. Danes comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Danes misses with an elbow strike.

Garcia is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Danes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Danes tries a knee to the head but Garcia blocks it.

Garcia tries to score a power double leg takedown but Danes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Garcia somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Danes dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Garcia scores a takedown into full mount! Danes takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Danes is wriggling around trying to escape.
Garcia wants to take his opponent's back but Danes doesn't allow it. Garcia throwing strikes here but Danes is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Danes wants to control but Garcia is having none of it. Danes holds on to Garcia as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia goes for an armbar but Danes turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Danes. Garcia takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Danes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Garcia can't keep his opponent in guard - Danes advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Danes passes to full mount! Garcia tries to lock up and control but Danes gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Danes gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Danes tries to clinch but Garcia is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danes tries to clinch up. Garcia scores a takedown into full mount! Garcia tries to control but Danes wriggling away. Danes is trying to escape the mount.
Garcia looking to control but Danes is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Garcia goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Danes is on top in guard.
Danes stands and throws Garcia's legs to the side, diving into side control. Garcia is being controlled here. Garcia wants to control but Danes postures up. Danes controlling the position. Garcia is looking to regain half guard here but Danes keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Danes stands up and we're back to a striking position. Danes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garcia. Danes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Danes doesn't manage to clinch there - Garcia circles away.
Danes moves out of range as Garcia strikes. Luke Danes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Danes clinches up against the cage. Danes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Garcia swats away the attempt to clinch by Danes. Nice takedown defense from Danes. No joy for Garcia on that attempt. Danes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Danes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Garcia tries to avoid it but Danes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Garcia to the ground. Garcia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! Luke Danes showed his dominance in that final round. I think Danes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
