PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adolf Hitla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Senki Gudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gudo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Money to Blow. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Adolf Hitla! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Senki Gudo! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gudo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hitla sprawls well initially but Gudo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Gudo is working for a kimura but Hitla is defending it quite comfortably.
Hitla has one foot on Gudo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Gudo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hitla pinned against the cage. Hitla gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A jab from Hitla misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hitla throws a sloppy head kick and Gudo moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hitla misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gudo.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitla shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gudo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gudo. Gudo has gone for a leg lock! Hitla slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gudo's guard. Hitla trying to control the position from guard on top but Gudo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gudo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hitla is one step ahead there. Hitla trying to control but Gudo is working from the bottom. Gudo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hitla stands and throws Gudo's legs to the side, diving into side control. Hitla moves into full mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Senki Gudo dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Gudo misses with a takedown and Hitla counters with a straight right hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gudo with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Hitla to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gudo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hitla is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gudo decides to stand up. Gudo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hitla counters with a takedown into side control. Adolf Hitla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Senki Gudo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hitla taking a breather here. Hitla trying to control the action but Gudo is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hitla taking a breather here. Hitla tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Gudo is not content to let Hitla control the position. Gudo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hitla is trying to control. Gudo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hitla is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gudo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Hitla could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Adolf Hitla just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gudo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hitla was covering up waiting for the punch and Gudo finishes the takedown easily into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adolf Hitla dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Gudo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hitla knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gudo misses with a takedown and Hitla counters with a single leg into guard. Gudo didn't expect that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gudo keeping moving, preventing Hitla from controlling successfully. Gudo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hitla trying to control but Gudo is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gudo is on top in guard.
Gudo passes Hitla's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gudo trying to mount his opponent but Hitla defends it. Gudo gets to his feet - back to striking we go! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hitla throws a leg kick and Gudo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gudo.
And that's the end of the fight! Senki Gudo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Gudo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
