PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sly Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Troy Robertson Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Troy Robertson Jr!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Robertson Jr slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Guy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Guy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Guy has gone for a leg lock! Robertson Jr slips out almost immediately though and dives into Guy's guard.
Guy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Guy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Robertson Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Guy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robertson Jr is trying to defend but Guy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Guy is nestled in close to Robertson Jr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Guy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
