Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alen Zalac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clark Kent! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zalac fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Zalac wants to clinch. Zalac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kent moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Zalac tries to clinch but Kent is having none of it. Kent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kent is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kent is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Zalac is just riding it out for now. Kent eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zalac tries to kick Kent off but Kent keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Kent trying to control from Zalac's half guard. Zalac has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Kent should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kent drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zalac looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zalac looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zalac! Kent is looking for a sweep. Kent taking a bit of punishment here - Zalac scoring with strikes. Zalac wants to stand but Kent has his arm trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zalac is looking to take a break and control but Kent is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kent regains half guard. Zalac is thwarting Kent's attempts to control the position. Kent makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kent. Zalac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kent on the ground. Zalac in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Zalac trying to control the position from guard on top but Kent is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kent looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zalac is one step ahead there. Kent manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Zalac manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent stands and throws Zalac's legs to the side, diving into side control. Kent tries for a kimura but Zalac is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kent tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kent has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Kent looks gassed! Kent is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zalac is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kent is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Zalac has escaped the position, nice work there. Kent tries for a kimura but Zalac is defending well. Kent thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Zalac manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clark Kent dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Zalac gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kent counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Zalac! Kent working for a submission but Zalac is keeping him at bay. Kent is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Zalac to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Zalac shrugs it off. Zalac wants to control but Kent is having none of it. Kent is working for a guillotine from mount but Zalac frees his head quite easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. You get the feeling that Zalac really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Kent has hold of Zalac's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Zalac manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Kent goes for an armbar but Zalac turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Zalac.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent is looking to sweep but instead, Zalac has passed into half guard.
Kent is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zalac pulls his head out easily. Zalac is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Kent wants to get back to full guard. Zalac is thwarting Kent's attempts to control the position. Kent regains full guard. Nicely done. Kent tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zalac misses with a head kick.
Kent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zalac is trying to defend but Kent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kent is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Kent drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zalac manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Kent has Zalac in his guard. Kent looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zalac would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Kent has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Zalac doesn't defend quickly enough and Kent has managed to lock this one up! Can Zalac escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kent on a fantastic submission victory.
