Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edmund Blackadder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Smith has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Colin Fotheringham and Steven Brown.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith clobbers Blackadder with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A telegraphed right hand from Smith misses the target.
Smith thows a body shot but no joy.
Blackadder shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Blackadder fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Smith avoids it really well and circles away.
Smith throws out a loose jab but Blackadder uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith takes a swing at Blackadder's ribcage but misses.
A jab from Smith misses.
Blackadder shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmund Blackadder. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith misses with an uppercut.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Smith closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Blackadder wants to get back to his feet.

Blackadder is not content to let Smith control the position.
Blackadder keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blackadder doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Smith wants to control but Blackadder is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blackadder is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.
Smith is looking to advance position but Blackadder won't allow it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Blackadder ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Blackadder shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Blackadder!
Blackadder tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Blackadder is on top in guard.

Blackadder has gone for a leg lock! Smith slips out almost immediately though and dives into Blackadder's guard.

Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Blackadder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smith wants to pass the guard but Blackadder is keeping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Smith misses with a hook.
Smith misses with a body shot.
A big left from Smith misses.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Blackadder shoots and misses
and Smith counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Blackadder thinking.
Blackadder tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Smith throws a jab when Blackadder was well out of range.
Smith thuds a left hand into Blackadder's body.
Blackadder has his takedown stuffed
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Blackadder takes a jab right on the kisser.
Blackadder fails with an attempt to clinch.
Blackadder gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Blackadder!

Smith controlling from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Smith fails to take his opponent's back.

Smith moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Blackadder has worked his arm free - good work by Blackadder!

Smith goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Blackadder has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Smith but great work by Blackadder.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith sneaks back into half guard.

Blackadder is trying to work for a kimura but Smith is defending well.
Smith manages to get to full guard.

Smith looking for a guillotine here but Blackadder defends easily.

Blackadder drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Blackadder as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Smith screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Blackadder! Nice submission victory there!
