Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between marco ruas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Whiting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Whiting struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.3lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whiting tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but ruas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Whiting tries to clinch but ruas moves out of range.
Whiting shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as ruas sprawls well. ruas wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Whiting gets slowly back to his feet.
ruas takes a swing at Whiting's ribcage but misses.
Whiting moves out of range as ruas strikes.
ruas bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Whiting's head.
ruas misses with an uppercut. Whiting saw that one coming.

Whiting wants to clinch up but ruas keeps it at a distance.

It looks like Chris Whiting has been cut.

ruas lands with a shot to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Whiting is defended easily by ruas.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

ruas drops Whiting with a huge uppercut! Whiting drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. ruas is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
