The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Bruno Lombardi and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shephard walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kirkham thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shephard will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kirkham throws a right and a left that both miss.
Shephard takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Kirkham throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kirkham displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Shephard.
Shephard fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kirkham looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nice defenses there by Shephard.
Kirkham fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shephard shoots in looking for a takedown. Kirkham tries to sprawl out of it but Shephard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kirkham manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Shephard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kirkham smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Shephard connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kirkham. Kirkham circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kirkham is rocked!
Shephard throws a pinpoint strike between Kirkham's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Kirkham crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Shephard scores a great knockout victory!
