PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Waters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albert Wesker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesker comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thriller kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Wilson Waters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilson Waters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Albert Wesker!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters moves away from the strike by Wesker.
Wesker throws a body punch but Waters moves out of range.

Waters shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wesker napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Wesker tries to buck Waters off but Waters is having none of it.

Waters is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Wesker has escaped the position, nice work there.
Waters creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Wesker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Wesker is trying to get back to half guard.
Waters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Waters goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wesker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Waters but great work by Wesker.
Waters seems a little lost for a moment, as Wesker dominates the positioning.
Waters tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wesker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wesker wants to control but Waters is keeping him busy.
Waters manages to get back to half guard.
Wesker prevents Waters from improving his position.
Waters is working hard here to advance position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are battling for position here. Waters manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Waters tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Waters is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Waters looking for a sweep. Not yet Waters, not yet.

Waters throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Waters lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wesker!
Waters throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wesker because Waters loaded up on that one.
Waters thowing shots but they're missing.
Waters lands a big shot there that rocks Wesker but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wesker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Waters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Waters throws a wild left hand from mount and Wesker manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Waters missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Waters wants to work for an arm triangle but Wesker is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Waters working the head and body with strikes.

Waters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Waters is breathing heavily.
Wesker trying to control but Waters postures up.

That's five minutes gone in the round.

Waters is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Waters thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wesker's head.
Waters misses with a head shot. Wesker uses the momentum to regain guard.
Wesker controls Waters momentarily but Waters frees himself.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Waters accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Waters is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wesker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wesker has escaped and now he's on top!
Wesker won't allow Waters to sweep him here.

Waters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wesker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Wesker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Waters is proving hard to escape from.
Wesker wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.

Waters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wesker wants to control from the top but Waters keeps moving.
Waters looking for a sweep. Not yet Waters, not yet.
Waters keeping moving, preventing Wesker from controlling successfully.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Waters shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Waters throwing strikes from guard but Wesker blocks nicely.
Waters throws and elbow that misses. Wesker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Waters's guard. Nice move by Wesker!
Waters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wesker is one step ahead there.
Wesker tries to stand but Waters is controlling from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
Wilson Waters showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Waters has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
