Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Vick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sean Quinn was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vick works over Quinn's head and body with a nice combination.

Quinn shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Vick keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Vick trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Vick on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vick tries to get out of the position.
Quinn is taking a breather. Vick says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Quinn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quinn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Vick wants to control but Quinn is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Vick is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vick is trying hard to land a takedown here. Quinn sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Quinn pushes Vick up against the cage in a clinch.
Quinn lands a right hand that snaps the head of Vick backwards.
Quinn has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vick is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like Michael Vick has been cut.

Quinn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sean Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vick on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Quinn rushes Vick and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Quinn manages to break the clinch.
Quinn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vick.
Quinn misses with an uppercut. Vick saw that one coming.
Quinn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Quinn lands with a good body shot.
Quinn connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Quinn closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Quinn tries to circle away but Vick has him pinned against the cage.
Quinn tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vick avoids it.
Quinn wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Vick has him pressed against the cage.

Vick on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
A body shot lands from Quinn.
A left hand lands to the body for Quinn.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Quinn.
Quinn is working Vick over against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Quinn scores with a hook to the body.

Quinn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jab by Quinn.
Quinn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vick paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Quinn scores with a shot to the body.
Quinn cracks Vick with an open hand slap.

Quinn gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Quinn in particular looking to stall.

Quinn tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Vick.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Vick is looking to control Quinn's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Vick avoid being mounted?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Still in half guard, Quinn seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Quinn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's nine minutes gone in the round.

Despite being in the dominant position, Sean Quinn just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Quinn closes the distance and clinches.
Quinn is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Quinn is trying to trip Vick. He has hold of a leg but Vick is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Quinn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Quinn controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Michael Vick has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Quinn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
