The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Escobar as Coimbra shoots in.

Coimbra wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Escobar, who protects the arm well.
Escobar is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coimbra has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Coimbra is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Escobar's shoulder. That is not cool.

Coimbra doesn't have the hooks in and Escobar manages to turn into his guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Coimbra had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Escobar defends it easily.

Coimbra controls Escobar momentarily but Escobar frees himself.

Escobar drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Coimbra manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Escobar has Coimbra in his guard.
Escobar tries to land a sweep but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Escobar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coimbra doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coimbra manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
