Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Elric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes comes to the cage accompanied by My Sacrifice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elric shoots in for a takedown but Hayes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Elric looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hayes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hayes throws a strike but Elric rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hayes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Elric must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hayes wants to clinch.
Hayes connects with a single shot there.
Elric throws a body kick that misses.

Hayes gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Elric is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hayes is controlling him.
Hayes passes Elric's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Hayes is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Elric doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hayes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hayes is trying to control the action in half guard but Elric is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Tim Elric dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hayes tries to clinch up.
Elric shoots in for a takedown but Hayes shows good takedown defense.
Elric fails with a takedown attempt.
Hayes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Elric dives in and grabs Hayes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hayes pushes down on Elric's head and hops out.
Marcus Hayes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Elric.

Elric keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hayes's head.
Hayes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Elric is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hayes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Elric has picked Hayes up and slammed him! Hayes can't keep hold of the triangle and Elric manages to pass to side control!
Hayes tries to bench press Elric off him but Elric keeps the position.

Elric is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hayes has escaped the position, nice work there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hayes is trying to work for a sweep but Elric has mounted him!
Elric postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hayes looks a forlorn figure.
Elric loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Hayes scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Elric land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Elric stands and salutes the crowd.
