Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Handkanten Hans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kook Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Handkanten Hans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kook Cane! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cane fails with the takedown. Cane changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hans looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hans is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Cane is trying to get an arm triangle but Hans is defending well. Hans tries to get back to half guard but can't. Hans regains half guard. Cane wants to pass the guard but Hans is defending well. Hans manages to get to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hans looking for a sweep. Not yet Hans, not yet. Hans could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Cane not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Cane trying to control the position from guard on top but Hans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hans lands a good elbow from the bottom. Hans looking to control.
Cane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hans will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cane postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hans looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Cane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hans throws a lazy head kick and Cane counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Cane looks for a takedown but Hans sprawls well. Cane shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Handkanten Hans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kook Cane. Cane rushes Hans and presses him up against the cage. Hans looking to throw knees to the head but Cane is blocking nicely.
Hans escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hans throws a sloppy head kick and Cane moves out of range easily. Cane shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hans sprawls well. Hans wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cane gets slowly back to his feet. Cane looks gassed! Hans lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cane will feel that in the morning.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A punch combination from Hans misses. Cane stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cane wants it to stay on the feet. Cane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hans misses with a low kick.
Cane moves in looking to clinch but Hans pushes him off. Hans closes the distance and clinches up with Cane, looking for a takedown. Hans pushes Cane against the cage but Cane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hans falls off balance throwing a combination
and Cane counters with a flying knee. Nice. Handkanten Hans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cane has a takedown stuffed. Cane lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cane.

Hans swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cane counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hans blocks a head kick by Cane.

and Cane moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kook Cane dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hans checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hans throws a combination that misses and Cane counters with a nice kick to the body. Cane doesn't manage to clinch there - Hans circles away.
Cane tries for a takedown but Hans sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hans goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Cane doesn't manage to clinch there - Hans circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cane. Cane lands a high kick!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Cane is defended easily by Hans. Handkanten Hans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kook Cane. Hans throws a head kick that misses and Cane counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hans is lucky that one didn't land flush. Hans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Cane misses with a takedown attempt - Hans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cane lands a jab.

Cane has managed to clinch.
Cane is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hans gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hans manages to break the clinch.
Hans scores with a push kick. Cane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hans but Hans pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cane feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hans's calf. Hans thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cane if he has to take too many more of those.
Cane moves out of range of the body kick from Hans.
Cane is looking to clinch. Cane shoots in for a takedown but Hans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Hans. Cane instigates a clinch. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Hans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hans misses with a few strikes there.
Cane fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Cane tries to land a front kick but Hans steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cane is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Crunch! Hans slams his shin into Cane's torso. Hans pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cane scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hans doesn't seem bothered though. Hans throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Cane counters with a good low kick that Hans was not able to check.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cane shoots in for a double leg but Hans sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kook Cane seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cane doesn't manage to clinch there - Hans circles away.
Hans throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Cane scores with a head kick.

Cane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A lazy body kick from Hans and Cane counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hans! Hans is looking to get to half guard. Cane avoids the attempt from Hans to control. Hans is desperately trying to improve his position but Cane has a good base and remains in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cane throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hans because Cane loaded up on that one. Hans tries to lock up and control but Cane gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Hans is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Cane looking to control but Hans is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Cane throwing strikes here but Hans is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Kook Cane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Cane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hans walks away with a smile on his face. Cane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Hans misses with a looping right. Handkanten Hans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hans throws a combination that misses and Cane counters with a left and a right that stings Hans. Hans fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hans gets caught flat footed, as Cane shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Cane stopping the sweep attempt from Hans. Hans keeping full guard, as Cane tries to pass. Cane wants to control from the top but Hans keeps moving. Cane preventing the sweep. Hans trying to strike off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cane trying to control the position from guard on top but Hans is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hans not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Cane fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hans, pushing him back against the cage. Hans breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cane tries to clinch but Hans moves out of range. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cane. Hans fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cane tries to close the distance and clinch but Hans swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Hans throws a head kick but Cane moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cane fails to land the takedown. Hans missing with a left hand there. Cane was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Hans tries to land a front kick but Cane steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cane pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hans lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cane circles away quickly and effectively. Cane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hans as he avoids it easily. Cane is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Hans rather than just go for the knockout. Cane scores with a push kick. A head kick by Hans misses and Cane counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Cane. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hans trying to keep a closed guard but Cane is proving a slippery customer.
Cane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cane throws a big right hand that misses. Hans is looking to stand up but Cane isn't so interested in that idea. Hans looking to control.
Cane not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Hans is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cane is aware though and is defending well. Cane won't allow Hans to sweep him here.

Handkanten Hans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kook Cane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Cane misses with a takedown attempt - Hans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
And that's the end of the fight! Kook Cane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
