Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between juan sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Taka Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, juan sanchez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Taka Yoshi! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshi shoots for a takedown but sanchez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. A head kick misses from Yoshi. sanchez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. sanchez misses with a takedown and Yoshi counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. sanchez will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. sanchez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
It looks like juan sanchez has been cut. sanchez lands a head kick!
Yoshi tries to bum rush sanchez with a series of wild strikes but sanchez uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Yoshi throws a leg kick that is checked and sanchez counters with a shoot takedown. Yoshi fights it but they end up in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! sanchez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. sanchez has gone for a leg lock! Yoshi slips out almost immediately though and dives into sanchez's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. sanchez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Yoshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. sanchez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Yoshi throwing strikes from guard but sanchez blocks nicely. sanchez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Yoshi trying to control but sanchez is working from the bottom. Yoshi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. sanchez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Yoshi won't allow sanchez to sweep him here. sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Yoshi defends well. Yoshi trying to control but sanchez is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshi is stalling in the full guard. Yoshi got a little sloppy there for a moment and sanchez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yoshi has managed to get both his arms back between sanchez's legs - danger averted. Yoshi wants to control from the top but sanchez keeps moving. Yoshi stays in close to sanchez's body and controls the position. sanchez is looking for a triangle but Yoshi pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Yoshi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard. sanchez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. sanchez keeping moving, preventing Yoshi from controlling successfully.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yoshi lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. sanchez throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yoshi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. sanchez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
juan sanchez dominated that round. The cut man is working on juan sanchez's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Yoshi throws a push kick but sanchez slaps the foot to one side. A head kick misses from sanchez. sanchez throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Yoshi misses the jab. Yoshi looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for sanchez! sanchez is squirming around, avoiding Yoshi's attempts to control the action. Yoshi is landing with some decent strikes but sanchez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. sanchez is looking to improve his position but Yoshi isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshi trying to control but sanchez is having none of it. sanchez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Yoshi. Yoshi controlling the position easily from mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. sanchez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. sanchez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Yoshi is looking to take a break and control but sanchez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. sanchez moves into full guard.

Nice BJJ displayed there by sanchez.
