Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonny Bridge! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lei Wulong! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bridge throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Bridge swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wulong counters with a head kick. Bridge missing with a left hand there. Wulong was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bridge throws a left and a right that both miss
and Wulong counters with a lovely straight right hand! Bridge throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Bridge scores with a decent looking hook. Wulong throws a nice inside leg kick. Wulong fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Bridge wants to clinch and Wulong decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bridge's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Wulong stopping the sweep attempt from Bridge.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bridge has control of Wulong's left arm, preventing Wulong from doing any damage. Wulong missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bridge wants to improve his position but instead Wulong has moved into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wulong is putting a hurting on Bridge here, landing some big shots from side control. You can see the frustration on Bridge's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wulong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Bridge is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Bridge is looking to improve his position.
Wulong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Wulong throwing shots but Bridge is blocking nicely. Wulong is thwarting Bridge's attempts to control the position. Wulong working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wulong keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wulong tries to work over Bridge's front leg with a kick but Bridge checks it. Wulong throws a body punch but Bridge moves out of range. Wulong tries to clinch up. Bridge misses with a head kick.
Bridge misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. A chopping leg kick lands by Bridge. Wulong moves out of range as Bridge strikes. Wulong lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bridge's sensitive parts. Wulong lands a nice looking body shot.
Wulong has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wulong there as he acknowledges the shot. Jonny Bridge is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wulong takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. A big left from Bridge misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wulong connects with a jab. Bridge loads up on a big right hand but Wulong slips the punch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lei Wulong dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Wulong throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Bridges head. Bridge is looking to break free of the clinch but Wulong has double underhooks. Bridge stalling in the clinch but Wulong improves position. Wulong scores with a nice hook to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Wulong. Wulong manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Bridge keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Wulong's efforts to push away. Bridge wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bridge digs a right hand into Wulong's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wulong's gas tank. Bridge wants to stall.

A big left from Wulong misses. Bridge misses with a hook. Bridge tries to clinch up and Wulong counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bridge uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wulong has time to react. Wulong is still on wobbly legs! Can Bridge finish him? Bridge throws a lazy head kick and Wulong counters with a good low kick that Bridge was not able to check. No joy there for Bridge, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wulong seems to have recovered his senses. Bridge tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wulong was well out of range. Poor timing from Bridge. Bridge moves into the clinch. Bridge lands a body punch in the clinch. Wulong jumps guard but Bridge stands there with Wulong around his waist. Wulong gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bridge using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Wulong has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

and Bridge counters with a body kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bridge looks for the body kick but Wulong saw that one coming. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonny Bridge clearly takes that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

It looks like Lei Wulong has been cut. Wulong takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wulong keeps the fight on the outside. Bridge closes the distance and clinches. Bridge lands a shot to the body. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Bridge takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Wulong is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Bridge pushes Wulong back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Bridge throws a big uppercut that drops Wulong! More strikes from Bridge and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Wulong lies dazed against the cage as Bridge celebrates with his cornermen!
