Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Striker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Hilga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for William Striker has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, William Striker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Hilga! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Striker throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Striker looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Hilga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Striker's guard. Hilga is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hilga pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Striker is keeping the position for now. Striker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hilga on the ground. Striker wants to get back to his feet but Hilga is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hilga postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hilga trying to control the position from guard on top but Striker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hilga gets to his feet. Striker looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Hilga shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Striker's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hilga stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hilga moves into the clinch. Hilga decides to pull guard. Striker trying to control but Hilga is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hilga is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hilga lands a nice looking body kick. Striker connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Striker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Striker swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Hilga takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Hilga feints and as Striker raises his hands in defense, Hilga changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Striker pulls Hilga in to control the position. Hilga is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hilga passes Striker's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Hilga escapes and gets back to his feet. Striker throws a lazy right hand but Hilga sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Hilga fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Striker, pushing him back against the cage. Striker is trying to break the clinch but Hilga has him pressed against the cage. Hilga closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Hilga gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Hilga stands and steps away. Striker gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Striker pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hilga passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Striker is looking for a sweep. Hilga decides to stand up, so the ref orders Striker to his feet. Striker misses with a hook. Striker fails to land with a series of punches.
Hilga shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hilga advances position into side control! Hilga trying to control the action but Striker is working from the bottom. Striker is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hilga has just dragged him back down to the mat. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The ground and pound from Hilga seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Striker trying to remain calm as Hilga controls from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hilga advances to half guard. Hilga decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Striker keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hilga sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Hilga is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Striker has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Striker! Striker is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Hilga has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Striker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hilga tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hilga is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hilga wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hilga pushes Striker off and gets back to his feet.
Hilga clinches up with Striker and pushes him back against the cage. Hilga tries for a takedown but Striker manages to get underhooks.

Hilga has Striker pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Striker manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Striker has had enough of the clinch but Hilga keeps him there for the moment. Hilga jumps guard.
Hilga seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Hilga working for a triangle but Striker defends it easily.

Hilga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Hilga decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Hilga takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Striker doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hilga counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Hilga wants to control from the top but Striker keeps moving. Hilga is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Hilga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hilga connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. William Striker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hilga throws a front kick that sends Striker stumbling back into the cage. Hilga shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hilga was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hilga throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Hilga has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Striker is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Hilga controlling the position well here. Striker rolled but Hilga kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Striker trying to control the hands but Hilga breaks the grip. William Striker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hilga throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Hilga tries to keep control of the position but Striker is staying busy. Hilga biding his time, looking for the opening.
Despite being in the dominant position, Ryan Hilga just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Striker throws a sloppy head kick and Hilga counters with a series of strikes. Striker will be more careful next time no doubt. Hilga takes the fight into the clinch. Hilga gets a trip takedown into half guard. Striker punching from the bottom.
Hilga is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Striker!
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Hilga comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hilga has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
