Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Balack Rassum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Balack Rassum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bob Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Rassum with that takedown attempt.

Rassum tries to keep at a distance but Nelson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Rassum tries to pull guard but Nelson holds him up against the cage and eventually Rassum drops back down to his feet.
Rassum goes for a takedown attempt but Nelson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Balack Rassum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nelson leaves Rassum with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nelson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Rassum with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Nelson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rassum pulls his head out easily.

Rassum looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Rassum is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Nelson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Nelson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nelson.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rassum thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rassum is breathing heavily.
Nelson keeping moving, preventing Rassum from controlling successfully.

Rassum has gone for a leg lock! Nelson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Rassum's guard.
Nelson controls from within his opponent's guard.

Rassum working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nelson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nelson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Rassum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nelson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Nelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nelson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rassum looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rassum looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rassum!
Nelson gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Nelson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rassum pulls his head out easily.

Rassum seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Nelson has recovered full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rassum with a flurry of punches that miss.

Rassum drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nelson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nelson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nelson!

Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Nelson dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Rassum feints and as Nelson raises his hands in defense, Rassum changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rassum sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nelson's guard.
Nelson is looking to improve his position.
Rassum landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Rassum is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Nelson is just riding it out for now. Rassum eventually gives up the hold.

Nelson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Rassum is looking for a kimura but Nelson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rassum to get the leverage.

Nelson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rassum pulls his head out easily.
Rassum is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nelson wants to improve his position but Rassum is controlling well.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Rassum drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rassum avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Rassum keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Nelson's head.

Rassum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nelson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Rassum working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Nelson pushes a forearm under Rassum's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Rassum is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
