Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carl Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Alves! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves throws a head kick that misses. Jab, jab by Reed - just one landing. Reed fails with a takedown attempt. Carl Reed seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reed looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alves is fending him off so far but Reed persists. Nope, Alves circles away and we're back to standing. No joy there for Reed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alves looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Reed tries to bum rush Alves with a series of wild strikes but Alves uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Nice sprawl there from Alves as Reed shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carl Reed. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reed closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alves circles away. Reed lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Reed fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A chopping leg kick lands by Alves. Alves misses with a combination
and Reed counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Reed tries to keep at a distance but Alves has taken the fight into the clinch. Alves manages to break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves throws and low kick but Reed moves out of range easily. Alves closes the distance and clinches. Reed wants to get back to striking at distance but Alves won't allow it.
Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Reed lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Reed misses with an uppercut. Alves saw that one coming. Reed looks to clinch and Alves counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alves. Reed lands a body shot in the clinch.
Alves looking to throw knees to the head but Reed is blocking nicely.

Reed can't break the clinch.
Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Daniel Alves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reed misses with a takedown and Alves counters with an outside leg kick.
Alves throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Alves pushes Reed up against the cage in a clinch. Alves breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Reed misses with a hook to the body
and Alves counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Alves looks at the referee who does nothing so Alves lands a crushing right that sends Reed to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Alves!
