Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hans Martin Herring (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mur shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Herring napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Herring struggling a bit here.
Herring trying to remain calm as Mur controls from the top position.
Mur is chipping away with strikes.
Mur works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Mur decides to stand back up.
Herring shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mur counters by moving into the clinch.
Mur has Herring pushed against the cage.

Mur breaks from the clinch.

Mur shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mur content to control rather than advance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mur thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Herring's head.
It looks like Mur is going to stand back up.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Mur trying to pass the guard but Herring defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mur is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Herring is just riding it out for now. Mur eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Herring wants to improve his position but Mur is controlling well.
Mur throwing shots but Herring is blocking nicely.
Mur is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mur dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Herring slips a jab and a cross from Mur.
Herring has his takedown stuffed

and Mur counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Herring!
A nice elbow there by Mur.
Mur trying to control but Herring is having none of it.
Mur controlling the position easily from mount.

Mur trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mur punching from mount but Herring doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Herring holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Mur tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Mur lands a big elbow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mur looking to finish with strikes here!
Mur is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Herring can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Herring tries to lock up and control but Mur gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Herring is in a horrible position here. Mur smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Mur throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Herring is squirming around, avoiding Mur's attempts to control the action.
Mur has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Herring's face.
Mur is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Herring is in real trouble.
Herring is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mur not allowing Herring to control his hands.
Mur trying to control.
Herring trying to control the hands but Mur won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Mur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Herring with a poor takedown
and Mur counters with a three punch combo that has Herring backing up. Herring nods at Mur to acknowledge the strikes.
Herring takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Herring takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Mur throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mur lands a head kick!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mur dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Herring. That did some damage!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A thudding body kick lands there by Mur!

Mur scores with a takedown into Herring's guard.
Mur pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Herring is keeping the position for now.

Herring is working an open guard so Mur takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Mur.

Herring shoots and misses

and Mur moves into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Martin Herring. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mur drags the fight down to the ground.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mur holds on and takes a little breather.
Mur working a defensive guard here.

Herring is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mur is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mur has escaped and now he's on top!
Herring wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mur is now in half guard.

Mur is taking a breather. Herring says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mur throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Mur lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hans Martin Herring has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Frank Mur is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mur has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mur stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Herring to get to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Frank Mur comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mur has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
