The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vera has taken the fight to the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Wright scores with a nice short uppercut.
Vera has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wright throws a punch but it's blocked by Vera.
A short left from Wright.
Vera tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Wright smiles and moves away.
Vera ducks under a wild hook from Wright.

A big left from Wright misses.
Vera misses with a takedown attempt - Wright sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wright avoids a punch combination nicely.
Donk. Wright catches Vera right on the button with a cross.

Vera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brandon Vera. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wright's waist but Wright gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vera off to one side.
Wright lands a jab to the nose.

It looks like Brandon Vera has been cut.
Wright misses with an uppercut.
Vera misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wright.
Aaron Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright stuffs the takedown.

Wright lands a big right hand that sends Vera crashing to the mat! Wright stays standing though and waves Vera back to his feet!

Vera is rocked!
Vera displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wright throws out the jab.
Oh Vera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wright blocks a head kick by Vera.
Vera seems to have got his legs back now.
Wright tests Vera's chin there with a solid looking shot.
No joy there for Vera, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Wright is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wright scores with a hook to the body. Vera takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wright tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vera was well out of range. Poor timing from Wright.
Wright cracks Vera with a good jab.
Wright lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A jab lands there for Wright.
Wright moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Wright sends Vera crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Wright is motioning to the referee to let Vera up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Vera. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Vera throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Vera bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Aaron Wright is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wright throws a shot to the body.
Wright drops Vera with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Vera! Wright dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
