Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Cunningham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Boy!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cunningham scores a takedown into full mount!
Cunningham scoring with strikes but Boy is staying in there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cunningham throwing strikes here but Boy is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Boy tries to hold on but Cunningham pushes him away.
Boy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cunningham. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boy is in all sorts of trouble here.
Boy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Boy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cunningham is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Boy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Boy is wriggling around trying to escape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Boy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cunningham throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Cunningham lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.


Boy is rocked!
Cunningham prevents Boy from getting the reversal.
Cunningham unloads with some shots from mount but Boy bucks and avoids them well.
Cunningham has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cunningham throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The referee warns Boy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Cunningham breaks from Boy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Boy is still in real trouble! Can Cunningham finish him?
Boy gets back to half guard.
Boy seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boy manages to get to full guard.
Boy wants to sweep but no luck.
Boy is pulling down on Cunningham's head to control his posture.
Boy looking to control.
Boy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Cunningham is looking to work some ground and pound but Boy has wrist control.
Boy seems keen to control Cunningham's posture.

Despite being in the dominant position, Johnny Boy just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cunningham is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Boy.
Boy's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Boy duly obliges.
Boy scores with a jab to the body.
Some wild striking there from Boy.
Johnny Boy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Boy misses with a jab, cross combination.
A left and a right from Boy both land. Nice combination.

Boy throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cunningham.
Boy thuds his right hand into Cunningham's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.


Cunningham is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Boy engages and cracks Cunningham with a massive lead left hook - Cunningham tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Boy is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Boy!
