Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan Hardy!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear lands with an uppercut that bounces Hardy off the cage and back into rage.
Hardy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bear misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bear displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hardy throws out the jab.
Bear misses with a low kick.
Bear uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hardy.
Bear tries to clinch but Hardy moves out of range.
Bear lands with a nice combination. Hardy backs away looking to recover.
Bear lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Bear scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bear is keen to just control but Hardy is a slippery customer.
Hardy is controlling Bear's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

and Bear takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bear throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hardy's waist but Hardy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bear off to one side.
Bear takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Bear throws a leg kick but Hardy checks it.
Bear moves forwards but Hardy connects with a nice, crisp jab.

and Hardy counters with a single leg into guard. Bear didn't expect that.

Hardy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bear is looking to stand up but Hardy isn't so interested in that idea.
Hardy lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Hardy loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Hardy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hardy passes Bear's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Hardy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bear has time to react.
Bear walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Hardy checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Bear moves in looking to clinch but Hardy pushes him off.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bear wants to clinch up but Hardy keeps it at a distance.

Bear ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Bear steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hardy.
Hardy avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Bear moves in looking to clinch but Hardy pushes him off.
Hardy throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Bear counters with an outside leg kick.
A big right from Hardy misses.
Hardy throws a right hand that Bear ducks under and follows up with a left that Bear also avoids with ease.
Bear closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hardy circles away.
Hardy swings for the body but Bear moves out of range.

and Hardy counters with a stiff right hand.
Hardy lands a nice shot that snaps Bear's head back.


Bear is rocked!

A telegraphed right hand from Hardy misses the target.
Hardy might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Bear throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hardy has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hardy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

You can see the frustration on Hardy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dan Hardy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Bear shoots and misses

Hardy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hardy lands in his opponent's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hardy throws a hook to the side of Bear's head but Bear sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Bear on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bear tries to get out of the position.
The strikes coming from Hardy are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Hardy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bear sneaks out the side door and pushes Hardy away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Hardy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bear pinned against the cage. Bear gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hardy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dan Hardy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hardy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
