Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Berry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mahatma Gandhi! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Berry scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Gandhi is looking for a sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Berry tries to stand but Gandhi is controlling his head. Gandhi manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Gandhi is trying to control. Berry wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gandhi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Berry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Berry avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gandhi. Gandhi wants to pass to mount but Berry is defending the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Berry closes the distance and clinches up with Gandhi, looking for a takedown. Berry pushes Gandhi against the cage but Gandhi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Berry changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gandhi tries to avoid it but Berry manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gandhi to the ground. Gandhi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Gandhi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Mahatma Gandhi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Berry takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Gandhi shoots in but no luck this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gandhi connects with a nice looking jab.
Berry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Berry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Berry ducks under a wild hook from Gandhi. Berry closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gandhi to the mat! Gandhi manages to get full guard. Berry is breathing heavily. Gandhi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Berry! Gandhi scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Berry?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gandhi unloads with some shots from mount but Berry bucks and avoids them well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gandhi landing punches. Berry taking shots to the head. Gandhi is in the full mount, landing strikes. Berry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gandhi with a couple of short strikes. Gandhi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Berry hang on? Gandhi lands with some strikes. Gandhi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Gandhi avoids the attempt from Berry to control. Gandhi lands a big shot to the head and Berry winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
