Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Skippy McGee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robbi Nakamura! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nakamura is looking to clinch but McGee is avoiding it.
McGee throws the kick towards the body but Nakamura avoids it. McGee closes the distance and clinches. McGee tries for a takedown. No joy.
Nakamura tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGee just stands there and leans against the cage. Nakamura drops to a knee looking for a takedown but McGee gets the underhooks and prevents it.
McGee changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nakamura fights it off and pushes away nicely.
McGee closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nakamura circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Skippy McGee. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGee gets the takedown into side control. Nakamura is trying to control McGee's posture but McGee avoids it. Nakamura manages to get back to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McGee in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura is trying to maintain the position but McGee is very close to passing his half guard. McGee is trying to control. Nakamura wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Nakamura is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McGee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McGee's back! McGee turns into Nakamura and is now in his guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The fighters are battling for position here. Nakamura manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Nakamura is trying to control the position from the bottom.
McGee wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving. Nakamura working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McGee.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nakamura has his takedown stuffed and McGee counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. McGee pushes Nakamura up against the cage in a clinch.

McGee tries for a takedown but Nakamura circles away easily and Nakamura decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McGee's guard. McGee is breathing heavily. Nakamura trying to control but McGee is working from the bottom. McGee working for submissions but it's allowed Nakamura to get to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Nakamura is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGee manages to get to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nakamura drops back, looking for a kneebar! McGee looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McGee looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McGee! Nakamura wants to control but McGee postures up. McGee tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. McGee working away. Nakamura is looking to regain half guard here but McGee keeps moving and retains side control. Nakamura can't do much from the bottom here. Nakamura defending against the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Skippy McGee will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Nakamura shoots and misses and McGee decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nakamura's guard. Nakamura controls McGee momentarily but McGee frees himself. McGee trying to control the position from guard on top but Nakamura is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McGee postures up.
Nakamura is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. McGee wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving. McGee stands up from Nakamura's guard - McGee perhaps looking for a knockout. Nakamura closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nakamura lands in his opponent's guard. Nakamura is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGee lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Nakamura! Nakamura is looking to get to half guard. Nakamura is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McGee trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McGee postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nakamura looks a forlorn figure.
Nakamura is squirming around, avoiding McGee's attempts to control the action. Nakamura regains half guard. Nakamura looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. McGee not landing any meaningful shots this time. Nakamura is looking for a sweep. McGee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. McGee blocks the strikes from Nakamura.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakamura is looking to improve his position.
McGee thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Nakamura gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows McGee to score an easy takedown into full guard. Nakamura wants to control but McGee passes easily into half guard.
McGee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nakamura keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGee is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are battling for position here. Nakamura manages to regain full guard. Nice work. McGee passes into half guard. Nakamura is pressing down on McGee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. McGee tries to stand but Nakamura is controlling from the bottom. Nakamura will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Skippy McGee dominated that second round. That's time! McGee's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Nakamura wants to clinch and McGee makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Nakamura wants to clinch but McGee slips to the side and McGee counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. McGee misses with the combination.
McGee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakamura but Nakamura pushes him off and we're back to square one. McGee misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nakamura avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nakamura drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Nakamura throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McGee works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nakamura wants to control from the top but McGee keeps moving. McGee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Nakamura looking to sit in guard and control but McGee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. McGee trying to control but Nakamura is working from the bottom. Nakamura looking for a guillotine here but McGee defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nakamura is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McGee defends well. Nakamura working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Nakamura preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. McGee not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. McGee wants to control from the top but Nakamura keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nakamura throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McGee escapes and throws Nakamura's legs to the side, diving into side control! Nakamura is positioning himself to get back to half guard. McGee wants to control but Nakamura is keeping him busy. Nakamura is looking for a sweep. McGee taking a break here but Nakamura is having none of it and regains half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. McGee is taking a breather. Nakamura says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Nakamura trying to control but McGee postures up.
Robbi Nakamura has got the better of the ground game so far. McGee trying to control from Nakamura's half guard. Nakamura has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Nakamura is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Nakamura is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that's the end of the fight! Robbi Nakamura comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think McGee has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
