Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Monkey Luffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatoly Wasserman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Monkey Luffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Anatoly Wasserman! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wasserman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Luffy misses the shot to the body. Luffy throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Luffy leaves Wasserman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Luffy drives through with a takedown into guard. Luffy thows a big elbow that misses. Luffy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Luffy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wasserman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Luffy has Wasserman in his guard. Wasserman trying to control the position from guard on top but Luffy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Luffy controls Wasserman momentarily but Wasserman frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wasserman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Luffy dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wasserman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Luffy is controlling him. Wasserman is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Luffy wants to control from the top but Wasserman keeps moving. Luffy is looking to advance position but Wasserman has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Luffy can't escape the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Luffy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Luffy really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Luffy is trying to reverse the position but instead Wasserman has taken his back - oops! Will Wasserman go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That's three minutes gone in the round. Luffy goes for an armbar but Wasserman turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Wasserman. Luffy is breathing heavily. Luffy has a closed guard, preventing Wasserman from standing up. Luffy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Wasserman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wasserman wants to control from the top but Luffy keeps moving. Wasserman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Luffy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Wasserman puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Wasserman trying to control the action but Luffy is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wasserman is looking for a kimura but Luffy is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wasserman to get the leverage. Luffy has a hand on Wasserman's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wasserman takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Luffy wants to hold on but Wasserman pushes him away. Luffy looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Luffy trying to control the position but Wasserman manages to sink in the hooks. Wasserman is persistently looking for the submission but Luffy is defending it well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wasserman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Luffy is keeping the position for now. Wasserman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Wasserman won't allow Luffy to sweep him here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Monkey Luffy will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Luffy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wasserman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Luffy has Wasserman in his guard. Wasserman looking to pass the guard. Wasserman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Luffy wants to sweep here but Wasserman controlling him for the moment.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wasserman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Luffy swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Wasserman shoots and misses and Luffy counters with a shoot takedown. Wasserman fights it but they end up in guard. Luffy wants to control from the top but Wasserman keeps moving. Wasserman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wasserman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wasserman fails with the takedown and Luffy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Monkey Luffy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anatoly Wasserman. Luffy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wasserman is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! Monkey Luffy dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Wasserman has Luffy pulled in close to control his posture. Luffy trying to control the position from guard on top but Wasserman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Monkey Luffy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Wasserman controlling Luffy's posture. Luffy wants to control from the top but Wasserman keeps moving. Wasserman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Luffy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Luffy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that's the end of the fight! Monkey Luffy showed his dominance in that final round. Well Luffy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
