PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Steve Areeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Andrews told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Areeno lands with a nice body punch.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Areeno throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Andrews's waist but Andrews gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Areeno off to one side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Areeno closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Andrews to the mat! Andrews manages to get full guard.

Andrews tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Areeno wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Areeno is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Areeno has an Americana. Andrews didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Areeno is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Areeno hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
