PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jizzy Krup (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis O Reily (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jizzy Krup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Travis O Reily!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Reily stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and O Reily wants it to stay on the feet.

Krup takes the fight into the clinch.

Krup gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, O Reily regains guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krup drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but O Reily manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Krup has O Reily in his guard.
Krup looking for a sweep. Not yet Krup, not yet.
Krup is working hard here to advance position.
O Reily tries to stand but Krup is controlling from the bottom.
O Reily must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Krup looking to hit a scissor sweep but O Reily is one step ahead there.
O Reily tries to stand but Krup is controlling from the bottom.

O Reily is looking to work some ground and pound but Krup has wrist control.

O Reily is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Krup is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Krup has escaped and now he's on top!
Krup pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. O Reily is keeping the position for now.
Krup looking to sit in guard and control but O Reily gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
O Reily stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krup swivels though and keeps the full guard.
O Reily advances position into side control!

O Reily wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Krup, who protects the arm well.

O Reily is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Krup has escaped the position, nice work there.
Krup is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
O Reily in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Krup tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but O Reily wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Krup is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked O Reily off and has taken his back!
Krup scores with strikes from the back.
O Reily trying to control the hands but Krup won't let him.

Krup working for a choke but O Reily is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
O Reily trying to control the position but Krup manages to sink in the hooks.
Krup misses with punches from the back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Krup throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Krup gets his hands free as O Reily looks to control.
Krup somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jizzy Krup dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



O Reily fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Krup, pushing him back against the cage.
O Reily is trying to stall.
Krup avoiding damage as O Reily throws knees to the body.
O Reily is trying to drag Krup to the mat but Krup just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Krup decides to pull guard.
Krup looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
O Reily content to stall in guard here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
O Reily is looking to advance position but Krup has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Krup seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but O Reily is holding on tight.

Krup gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
O Reily looks to clinch

and Krup counters with a nice double leg into side control. O Reily won't be happy with that.
Krup looking to control but instead O Reily has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
O Reily regains full guard. Nicely done.
O Reily is trying to keep Krup in close.
O Reily is pulling down on Krup's head to control his posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
O Reily can't keep his opponent in guard - Krup advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Krup is pressing down on O Reily's thigh, looking to free his foot. O Reily is holding on for now.

Krup decides to stand and escape the position.
O Reily fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jizzy Krup is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Krup counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for O Reily!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
O Reily gets back to half guard.

O Reily wants to get back to his feet.
O Reily tries to roll over but Krup keeps him under control.

Krup is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so O Reily is just riding it out for now. Krup eventually gives up the hold.

Krup is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Krup is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Krup trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
O Reily has his hands on Krup's head, controlling the position.
O Reily keeping full guard, as Krup tries to pass.
Krup trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but O Reily manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Reily wants to control from the top but Krup keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



O Reily rushes Krup and presses him up against the cage.
O Reily misses with an elbow over the top.
Krup looking for a takedown.
O Reily misses with an elbow strike.
O Reily pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
O Reily lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
O Reily missing with knees to the body.

O Reily jumps guard but Krup stands there with O Reily around his waist. O Reily gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
O Reily is looking to control Krup's arms but Krup gets an underhook and turns him. Now O Reily has his back to the cage.
Krup gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from O Reily.

Krup pulls guard.
O Reily trying to control the position from guard on top but Krup is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
O Reily wanted to stand there but Krup had control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Krup looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
O Reily in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
O Reily looking to pass the guard.
O Reily is looking to advance position but Krup has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
O Reily is controlling an arm, preventing Krup from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krup throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for O Reily because Krup loaded up on that one.
O Reily avoids a series of strikes thrown by Krup.

Krup goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now O Reily is on top in guard.
O Reily trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Krup trying to control the position.
O Reily wants to control from the top but Krup keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
O Reily passes Krup's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Krup misses with some strikes from the bottom.
O Reily wants to control but Krup is keeping him busy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
O Reily prevents Krup from improving his position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Travis O Reily.
I think Krup has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
