Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dover Carlyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rasmus Persson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlyle throws a right and a left that Persson avoids nicely. Carlyle fails with an attempt to clinch.
No luck for Carlyle with that takedown attempt. Carlyle shoots in for a takedown but Persson shows good takedown defense. Carlyle circles away from the clinch attempt and Carlyle counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Carlyle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Persson just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dover Carlyle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Persson tries to pull guard but Carlyle won't allow it.
Carlyle manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Persson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Persson managing to block the knees to the body from Carlyle.
Persson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carlyle fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Persson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Persson throws a series of punches but Carlyle moves out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carlyle gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Persson.
It looks like Dover Carlyle has been cut. Carlyle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Persson circles away. Persson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Carlyle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Persson closes the distance looking to clinch and Carlyle counters with a takedown into side control. Persson is letting Carlyle control him for a moment. Persson is trying to control Carlyle's posture but Carlyle avoids it. Persson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Carlyle off and has taken his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Carlyle's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Carlyle sitting in guard here, content to control. Carlyle stopping the sweep attempt from Persson. Carlyle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carlyle stays in close to Persson's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Carlyle tries to stand but Persson is controlling from the bottom. Persson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Carlyle wants to hold on but Persson pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dover Carlyle dominated that round. The cut man is working on Dover Carlyle's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Carlyle shoots in but Persson avoids the takedown attempt easily. Carlyle shoots in for a takedown but Persson shows good takedown defense. Carlyle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Persson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dover Carlyle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Persson misses with a combination
and Carlyle decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Persson's guard. Persson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Persson wants to stand up but Carlyle is controlling him. Persson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Carlyle controls the pace. Persson is breathing heavily. Carlyle working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Persson controls Carlyle momentarily but Carlyle frees himself. Carlyle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carlyle's corner is telling him to maintain position. Carlyle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Carlyle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Carlyle lands a couple of digs.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Persson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carlyle stands and steps away. Persson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Nice sprawl there from Persson as Carlyle shoots in. Carlyle gets a clinch. Persson drags the fight down to the ground.
Persson can't keep his opponent in guard - Carlyle advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Carlyle is working for a submission of some sort.
Carlyle tries to stand but can't do so whilst Persson controls his leg. Carlyle knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Persson on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlyle blocks the strikes from Persson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carlyle takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Carlyle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Persson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlyle. Carlyle controlling the action here. Persson trying to control here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carlyle wants to stand but Persson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Carlyle landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Carlyle slows the pace down in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Persson is looking to control Carlyle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Persson avoid being mounted? Persson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Persson tries to roll over but Carlyle keeps him under control. Carlyle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Persson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Carlyle. Carlyle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Dover Carlyle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Carlyle content to control rather than advance. Carlyle stands up and beckons Persson to join him on the feet. Carlyle pushes Persson up against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Persson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Persson blocks the elbow strike.
Persson tries to break free but Carlyle pushes him back against the cage. Persson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carlyle walks away with a smile on his face. Persson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Persson throws a combination that misses and Carlyle counters by moving into the clinch. Persson is trying to break the clinch but Carlyle is controlling him. Carlyle will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Persson up against the cage. Carlyle jumps into guard, dragging Persson to the mat.
Carlyle pushes Persson off and gets back to his feet.
Carlyle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Persson as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dover Carlyle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Horrible takedown by Persson or perhaps it was just good defense by Carlyle which made him look bad. Persson leaves Carlyle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlyle moves away from the strike by Persson. Persson stuffs the takedown. Carlyle looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Carlyle shoots in for a takedown but Persson shows good takedown defense. Carlyle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Persson as he avoids it easily. Carlyle fails with the takedown. Carlyle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Persson, pushing him back against the cage. Persson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Carlyle walks away with a smile on his face. Persson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Rasmus Persson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dover Carlyle is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Carlyle shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Persson pinned against the cage. Persson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that's the end of the fight! Dover Carlyle showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carlyle, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
