Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Chaves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Poe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Chaves!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Chaves.
Chaves should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Chaves misses with a series of wild punches.
Daniel Chaves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Poe avoids a punch combination nicely.

Poe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Poe is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Chaves really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Poe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Poe postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Chaves looks a forlorn figure.

Poe jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Chaves manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Poe needs to keep his hands up - Chaves had a free shot at his head there.


It looks like Fernando Poe has been cut.
Chaves throws a series of punches but Poe moves out of range.
Poe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Chaves looks to land a combination but Poe avoids it well.
No joy there for Chaves, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chaves misses with a double jab.
Poe showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Chaves.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Poe is trying to control. Chaves wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Poe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Poe counters with a nice body kick.

Poe prevents Chaves from breaking the clinch.
Chaves wants to break free but Poe has control.
Chaves wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Poe wants the takedown. Chaves is fighting it off but Poe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Chaves's guard against the cage.
Chaves wants to get back to his feet but Poe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Chaves is not content to let Poe control the position.
